Vessel is a place to come home to. A café and restaurant where everyone is welcome for any occasion. Vessel is the place to enjoy all year round, spend a sunny day on our waterside terrace (a great view overlooking the IJ included) or get cosy around the fireplace on a cold winter day. Our menu is bursting with delicious dishes. Whether you’re in need of something nourishing and healthy or hangover-worthy, it’s all available and made with love and care. Our kitchen and floor staff will do everything they can to make sure you walk out the door with a smile on your face.

Our mission

We believe comfort food and conscious ingredients go hand in hand. Great fish, a good piece of meat, fresh fruit and veg and other beautiful plant-based components, in our kitchen we only select and use the best ingredients for our guests.

We work with local suppliers as much as possible: farmers, fellow foodies and neighbours, all bon vivants who care just as much about good food and drinks as we do.

Menu

Our chef Ricardo van Ede makes our bellies rumble every day. He fills our menu with character. At 21, Ricardo was the youngest Dutch chef ever to receive a Michelin star, he stands for a culinary movement that focuses on unique, pure and simple dishes without a fuss. Ricardo wants food to be comforting, like a warm blanket, something that puts a smile on your face. If our guests return to their homes a little happier than when they showed up, his mission is accomplished.

Our menu is bursting with creative and nourishing dishes that change every season. It’s flexible and offers a little something for everyone. You can come to us for plant-based food, just as much as for a sustainable piece of meat. In the kitchen we work with great respect for every product. “There’s no such thing as by-products: you can make something out of everything. That makes my work challenging, interesting and creative. And that shines through in the taste, I promise.”
